Google Fiber Vice President Dennis Kish wrote in a company blog that, “We can’t wait to see what people and businesses through the Southeast U. S. do using gigabit speeds. ”
Google Fiber happens to be available in Austin, Texas; Provo, Utah; and Kansas City, Mo.
In greater-Atlanta Google Fiber is organized for Avondale Estates, Brookhaven, Higher education Park, Decatur, East Point, Hapeville, Sand Springs and Smyrna.
The Raleigh-Durham metropolitan area deployment includes Carrboro, Cary, Religious organization Hill, Durham, Garner, Morrisville in addition to Raleigh.
This part of North Carolina is known as the Triangle or the Research Triangle the way it encompasses North Carolina State School, Duke University, University of Vermont at Chapel Hill and a lot of tech-based enterprises.
Kish outlined the next phase as working with cities for you to plan the physical deployment using existing utility poles and underground conduit. The planning will be accompanied by construction.
“Bringing Google Fiber to these cities is really a long-term investment. We’ve been working closely with city leaders within the last few year on a joint planning process to obtain their communities ready for Good Fiber—and now the truly work begins. ”
Kish in addition hinted at another announcement “later that year” regarding other potential Google Fiber Cities: Phoenix, Ariz.; Portland, Ore.; Salt Lake City, Utah; San Antonio, Colorado front range; and San Jose, Calif.
The Austin Google Fiber setup includes a more sophisticated downtown Fiber Space that’s prepared to take the public.
